The Aroom Coffee tenant improvement project was shaped by the need to navigate a lengthy historic review process. This influenced the overall design strategy for the 2,094 sf coffee shop at the Maritime Building, where the team carefully considered the space’s footprint and layout to support the client's goal of creating an inviting café. Exterior-related design elements and material choices were guided by historic review requirements while also balancing the interior designer’s international perspective with local code. The resulting layout and amenities were tailored to the client’s operational needs. Ultimately, early engagement with the historic board, additional code verification, and close coordination with West Summit General Contracting helped keep the project moving forward.
