Bellevue Downtown Station

Bellevue Downtown Station is a multi-level light rail station serving Sound Transit’s East Link. The station placement at the transition from tunnel tracks to elevated tracks was necessary due to the site location at a tunnel portal. The unique nature of the site requires elements of all three station types: tunnel, platform, and elevation. The sloped site requires pedestrian entry from above and below the station platform. The project includes train platforms, vertical and site circulation, ticketing and vending, track support, and maintenance spaces. The design is a result of a collaborative process with Sound Transit and lead architect LMN Architects.
