The Line Sets Tone for Future Development in Shoreline

The Line, a 235-unit mixed-use residential development from developer Evergreen Point Group, has recently passed design review.

The Line is one of the first mixed-use apartment projects to be built within Shoreline’s newly upzoned Link Light Rail district and will set the tone for future development in the neighborhood. As Transit Oriented Development (TOD), The Line required small blocks and pedestrian-oriented design. A woonerf will run through the project, to provide greater neighborhood access. Setbacks along the street fronts and a residential courtyard off the woonerf will give the building a more pedestrian scale.

To reinforce the “line” theme architect Tiscareno Associates crafted LED-lit linear motifs to thread up the building at the corners against a warm wood-like background, with bays and facades between for contrast. The result is a striking gateway building visible from a distance, with amenities including a lounge and meeting rooms; game, podcast, and media rooms; a fitness room; two levels of underground parking; and LEED-Platinum certification target.
